New Site
The new site went on-line over the weekend and the feedback has been great. The servers are still dealing with some caching issues but by in large everything looks great.

Podcast Goodness
A new Neilson report was released today indicating a very rosey present and future for podcasting:
More people have downloaded a podcast lately than have published a blog or engage in online dating, according to a new study by Nielsen//NetRatings.
It goes on to report the following statistics:
- 6.6% of the US adult online population (9.2 million people) have downloaded an audio podcast in the last 30 days
- users between the ages of 18 and 24 are twice as likely to download a podcasts as the rest of the US internet population
"The portability of podcasts makes them especially appealing to young, on-the-go audiences," Michael Lanz, an analyst with Nielsen/NetRatings, said in a statement. "We can expect to see podcasting become increasingly popular as portable content media players proliferate."
The last quote I find interesting since the latest entry into the podcasting space is geared almost entirely to the "in front of the computer" experience and treats portability as an afterthought when addressed at all.

Wanna Learn About Advertising Options?
Check out the new site: okaytoplay.com. He has created some very good "high level" charts comparing various things such as flash players, portable audio recorders, advertising companies, and music providers.
Weekend Mentions
Nice little blurb over on Nuketown about Podcast Ready:
* "I know you're an iPod reader, but wanted to give an unsolicited beta-review of an update to podcast-on-a-stick that's trying to become a community. They grabbed the domain podcastready.com and put the original POAS app on steriods, adding exports, ability to swap podcasts with users you mark as 'friends' and a bunch of other stuff."
* "The key of this app is that if you store your mp3's on sd cards, or direct to a handheld that your PC sees as a removable drive, you can store your podcatcher and apps in one place and use it on any open computer you come across (like at work, at home, at your other job, etc.)."
* "Anyways, I'm rooting for this new kid it to grow up pretty (grin). It keeps me organized so I thought i'd give it a shout out in case you wanted to try it or recommend it to folks that haven't found a satisfactory podcatching solution."
