We're Number 4!

I spoke with a podcaster at the Podcast and New Media Expo over the weekend that had just made the switch from Libsyn's statistical system to Raw Voice Generator. The first thing he noticed was that while Libsyn didn't report any contact with myPodder, Raw Voice's system showed myPodder to the 4th most popular client downloading his show. I wonder if they take that into account when Neilson certifies Libsyn stats...

I have noticed the same thing... my show Pod Music Countdown (PMC Top 10) has over 60% of the downloads coming from myPodder clients according to Feedburner, but none of them show up in my Libsyn stats.

That makes Podcast Ready easily #1 among my podcatchers.

We use Podtrac. Anyone know how it's doing? Man, if we're getting downloads that aren't registering, I'd want to know about that.

Dale: I'll check our system and see how many downloads our users are driving. How many myPodder contacts is Podtrac reporting? Also, congrats again on the contest! We're going ahead and putting your show in the devices/downloads we already have and will be launching with the others here soon.

myPodder isn't in the list at all, but it may be listed as something else. Here's the complete list from Podtrac:
UNKNOWN
Other Java Client
iTunes - Windows
Yahoo Slurp Bot
Internet Explorer - Windows
Mozilla - Windows
Juice Receiver
iTunes - Macintosh
Singing Fish Bot
GoogleBot
Mozilla - Macintosh
MSN Bot
FeedBurner
iTunes - Unspecified OS
ZenCast
Mozilla - Linux
Doppler
ArchosLink
Podtrac
Opera
Bloglines
Miro Video Player
Other Macintosh Client
Konqueror
Podcast Alley
Winamp Player
NSPlayer

So I'm wondering whether it's "unknown" or "other Java". If you can drop me an email and with the numbers, I could check it against my numbers.

Feedburner is showing hits from Podcast Ready.

Anyone else using Podtrac?

This might be something for Podcast Ready to communicate with Podtrac about.

My first question would be what does Nielsen know about podcast stats kind of weird.

I would not trust that old school company they are the folks that put set top boxes on people's TV to see what they are watching.

Libsyn Stats have been jacked for months. The new RawVoice Stats are pretty awesome as I have been using them for about a month now. At least the RawVoice guys are putting money in my pocket.

Thanks for pointing this out. We're glad that podcasters are seeing benefits from our stats system no matter how small those benefits are. Angelo (our lead developer) wants to recognize as many clients as possible and MyPodder is a staple so we couldn't leave it out.
